Zettle – Blog

Client: Zettle by PayPal (formerly iZettle)
Role in project: Art director, Designer

Made while employed at Zettle by PayPal.

Design for Zettle’s (formerly iZettle) blog, mainly intended to add value for existing customers by creating a space where Zettle can share resources and user stories from some of their successful merchants. An SEO-friendly place that new and old customers can navigate to and find inspiration on how to make the most of their Zettle products.

A closer look at the start page

Most users will find their way to specific articles or user stories, most likely from a search engine or from a link somewhere in the Zettle-universe. But for those rare users who start their blog journey from the actual start page, we wanted the first view to be easy to take in– with a simple navigation and a big heading to tell you where you ended up and what you can expect to find here. Since one of the main purposes of the blog is to share user stories, having good photos of the merchants is crucial to create interest and make the stories feel real and relatable– and luckily taking great photos is something Zettle is very good at. I therefore felt confident letting the imagery do a lot of the talking in these designs.

Article pages that won’t have the user frantically hitting the Back-button out of plain boredom

CTA sections to reel in non-customers

The beautiful thing about marketing sites, such as blogs, is that no one argues with you when you want to maxamize the size of the sections intended to do said marketing. This is also one of the few times no one will question the (perhaps excessive) use of whitespace. And so I was happy to spend some time designing large CTA sections using Zettle’s beautiful product images and big bold headings and buttons– sure to stop the user in their tracks and demand their full attention.
